Provide meals

Food forward SA and nation changers are NGOs that continue to provide meals to the vulnerable, during the lock down.

Make donations to your local spca

Help staff with sanitizers, masks and equipment to ensure their safety and to help feed the animals in the shelter, as SPCAs are still open. Donate to the national council of SPCA with the reference ‘essential’

The health care system is the backbone of the country, and is currently under great stress.

Donate blood to SANBS and WBCS

They are still in need of blood donations,and travel to these centers is considered essential travel

The African Child Feeding Scheme

(AFCS) requires donations of non-perishable food items or cash to continue to feed children across the country, who can no longer benefit from school feeding programs

Contact your local soup kitchen

Find out what assistance they need to stay open and running. Soup kitchens that you can get in touch with include:

  • ladles of love (CPT)

  • Missionsville (EASTENCAPE)

  • Foodfor life-(KZN, GAUTENG, MPUMALANGA,WESTERN CAPE)

Continue to pay domestics and gardeners

Pay employees even if you are not using their services, as not doing so will leave many people in difficult situations, unable to manage the lock down.

Support homeless people during lock down
