Here are some ideas for organising your own Postive Climate Action event:

  • Seeding: plant seeds which can be used for an urban garden or food garden

  • Revegetation: establish new vegetation on sites where it has been previously lost

  • Habitat enhancement- increasing the suitability of a site as habitat for some desired species (for example planting bee-friendly plants)

  • Remediation: improve an existing ecosystem or create a new one with the aim of replacing another that has deteriorated or been destroyed

  • Beach, street and waterway clean-ups

  • Alien clearing: remove alien invasive species like black wattle and eucalyptus to help conserve water and assist indigenous vegetation to thrive

  • Pack eco bricks: collect non-recyclable waste and pack eco-bricks which can be used to build modular furniture

  • Natural Building: Help build something needed by a community or school using natural building tools like clay and cob

  • Come together to discuss solutions, meditate or pray around the issue of environmental destruction and climate

  • Host a divestment dinner and collectively write to your asset managers and banks to put pressure on them to stop financing climate breakdown from the burning of coal, oil and gas.
