African Climate Alliance are beyond honoured to have been awarded the Amnesty Ambassador of Conscience Award 2019 – an award that was given to @gretathunberg and other youth climate strikers around the world as part of the @fridaysforfuture movement! We are excited to have been recognised for our efforts as part of this larger global movement.
The award was handed over to Greta Thunberg in New York by South African activist and Amnesty International Secretary General Kumi Naidoo in New York. Other youth groups were awarded the same honour all around the world. ACA avoided any potential air travel that would have been associated with accepting the award by accepting it digitally in Cape Town at the Ecolution Consulting offices.
Thank you to Amnesty International for bestowing this prestigious award upon the Youth of South Africa and the world who have been fighting for Climate Justice.
